Born in Florida in 1989, I was raised directly across from the bay. With my close proximity to water I quickly developed a ever increasing love for the ocean and anything related to it. With my mom being a lifeguard and swimming instructor in her past I was fortunate enough to learn to enjoy the water at a young age. I would spend my days, when I was not at baseball practice; swimming, fishing, or out on a boat. When I was 10 years old my family and I moved to Maui, HI. The majestic and breathtaking views there have had a lasting impact on my life and increased my love for the ocean.

Fast forward a few years and a few moves later and we get to when I got my first job. It was a summer and after school job at my grandfather's law firm. I was about 15 years old and had my first job working as a runner. The responsibilities included filing paperwork at the courthouses, making deposits and other bank transactions, processing incoming and outgoing mail, and many others. This job gave me the opportunity to learn about the inner-workings of an office environment and start to develop a good set of life skills.

I graduated high school in 2008, which is also the year that I decided to get certified as a diver. I joined a community college near work so I could go to school and maintain my job at the law firm. I took my basics with some additional classes in Computer Sciences and Drafting and Design. I spent two years there until finally moving to Louisiana to attend a trade school for Commercial Diving. Although I thoroughly enjoyed it and excelled at the academic portion commercial diving really was not for me. I decided to move on and eventually come back to diving, but next time recreational diving.

Needing to pick up some work I decided to move back to Florida. I called a dear friend of mine who runs a painting business. We talked for a while and I eventually got to the point of the call and asked him if he would take me on as an apprentice. He generously agreed to take me under his wing. I worked with him for close to a year learning the trade, which included a lot more than I had originally realized. I took the skills he taught me and moved down to the Florida Keys. I worked there as a painter for the next several years.

Once I saved up enough to go complete my training to become a PADI Diving Instructor I moved to Utila, Honduras. I spent 6 months there training and interning at Utila Dive Centre (UDC). Living there I worked with a great group of instructors and made many lifelong friends in the process.

All in all my love for the ocean has lead me to where I am today, a PADI Diving Instructor. My passion combined with excellent training and a drive to learn as much as possible about diving has lead me to what seems to be and exciting and rewarding career. I am looking forward to see what great adventures life throws at me next.
